It's Fashion Revolution week -- and Earth Week -- around the globe, and to celebrate we're bringing back a conversation from the Spirit of 608 podcast archives with the international movement's co-founder Orsola de Castro. Launched in reaction and response to the 2013 Rana Plaza collapse that left 1,134 people dead and more than 2,500 injured after the collapse of a garment manufacturing building in Dhaka, Bangladesh, the annual event connects people around the world to advocate for change in the apparel and textile industry. It asks us all to take a moment to pose the question #whomademyclothes? Listen in for Orsola's journey from sustainable designer to activist and what she sees as fashion's future -- including the very important part independent designers and fashion startups play in creating change.
