Spirit of 608: Fashion, Entrepreneurship, Sustainability + Tech

Mar 29, 2016

Sure, you have priorities. But can you prioritize? This week's badass bosslady knows how - and she'll tell you it's key to building a successful company - a subject she knows more than a little about. For the final episode in the month-long March Home Madness mini-series, I'm thrilled to share a conversation with Annie Morhauser, the founder of Annieglass, whose glass plates and tableware fringed in gold are nothing short of iconic. An artist who developed her own glass forming technique in the 1980s and set out to build a business from it, Annie's gone on to do much more than dress up dinner tables. Today you'll find her designs gracing the shelves at retailers such as Neiman Marcus and Bergdorf Goodman, in hotels like the Bellagio and in the homes of celebs such as Oprah, Jennifer Aniston and Christina Aguilera - just to name a few. They've also landed in the permanent collection of the Smithsonian American Art Museum. But while her success has reached lofty heights, Annie is surprisingly real about the facts of entrepreneurship.
