Spirit of 608: Fashion, Entrepreneurship, Sustainability + Tech

Dec 8, 2016

Today's show features a female entrepreneur who is not only building a FEST business, but is also a longtime Spirit of 608 listener and supporter of the show. In true Spirit of 608 style, she is building a business with a mission to not only bring beautiful artisan-produced apparel and accessories to her customers, but also to improve the livelihoods of the makers she works with by weaving English language education into her company's core operations.

Meet this week's guest, Vera Claire, founder of Cosa Buena.

Vera may be at the beginning of her entrepreneurial journey, but like so many young female entrepreneurs today, she already has much to teach. A seasoned world traveler by the time she hit her early twenties, Vera was taken with the handwork skills of makers she met in Latin and South American countries. You'll hear her explain her approach to establishing working relationships with artisans, why her Spanish language skills have been key to the process and how she plans to bring English language education to the people creating the goods she sells.
